Submission Deadline: 5th May 2025

We are looking for research projects or work in progress that focuses on the theme of War, Law and Human Rights. The theme perceived broadly could include the follow topics (not limited to) use of force, occupation, non-state actors, right to self-determination, statehood and armed conflicts, international legal history, critical theory, TWAIL, Islamic Law, international human rights law, international humanitarian law, security, post-conflict resolution, urban warfare, new emerging technologies, and future warfare. We are particularly keen to hear from research projects that are focused on the intersection between the themes, topics and their implications on international law.

Audience scope: internal and external participants (PhD and early career academics, preference will be given to PhDs and research fellows).

Format and duration: We are adopting a distinct approach that focuses on in-progress research/projects/papers. This will provide early career academics the opportunity to present their completed or in progress work through presentations. The general format is conversational. Given so, audience will be encouraged to engage and provide comments.

Refreshments will be provided
